What are research services?
In addition to the research you can buy or subscribe to on the website, we also undertake specific research for our clients. This can be on any business related topic, but usually it is research into companies and their activitites - as preparation for interviews or meetings.
Who can buy research from Career Workshop?
Anyone! We sell research services to individuals for interview preparation, but also to HR professionals or Career Coaches who then provide the information to their clients or staff, or indeed use the information in their own business.
Can't I just find this information myself on the web?
We use premium databases which aggregate paid-for content and give us very powerful search and retrieval options. These databases are not freely available on the internet. For instance, we can quickly search news and industry press over specific time periods.
What sources do you use?
We use a variety of sources including Factiva, Lexis Nexis, TBI, Companies House, Dun and Bradstreet, and Experian.
How do I pay?
By credit card or cheque if you are a job seeker. Companies can usually be invoiced.
Why can't I order research online?
Because we prefer to discuss your requirements before we start the assignment. However, we might introduce an element of automation to the process shortly.
What if you don't find anything?
Then you don't pay anything.
How much notice do you need?
As much notice as possible, but having said that we try to turn requests around as soon as possible. When we speak to you about the request, we will agree a timescale. It will usually be within 48 hours.
What format is the research in?
It is emailed to you in PDF format, for which you will need the free Adobe viewer.
What else do you research apart from companies?
Market sectors, people, and company listings are frequent requests. However, the scope of research is potentially very wide. Please do get in touch if you have a project and we will advise you. If your project is outside our expertise we may be able to refer you to an appropriate specialist.
